Plastics Injection Molding - Gate Trim Machine
Major Components: Allen Bradley Micro 1000, Sensors, Light Curtains, Air Cylinders & Controls, Anti-Tie Down.
System Description: Part in place prox to ensure location, cycle buttons to activate four
cylinders to degate, pok-e-yok in place to require part retrieval before
next cycle, production count displayed.
Justification: Reduction of one operator, improved quality and consistency of gate cuts, increased efficiency.

Automotive - Tape Application Machine
Major Components: Automation Direct PLC 205, HMI, VDC Motor w/Speed Control, Sensors & UV Detectors(for Primer), Air Cylinders & Controls.
System Description: Application of two sided tape to injection molded automotive trim products.
The DC motor drives contoured rollers that carry the product through the process
of priming, drying and tape application. The primer allows for adhesion of the
tape to the plastic parts.
Justification: Reduction of three operators, improved tape consistency, 45% increase in throughput.

Metals - Lead Rake Machine
Major Components: VFD to control 2HP motor, Relay Logic Controls.
System Description: This unit would rake through a heated sand bed at timed intervals to eliminate tunneling holes.
The tunnels were created by the product running continuously through the sand bed.

Automotive Plastics Painting - Turntable Design & Integrate into System
Major Components: Turntable designed with rodless air cylinders, cam rollers, sensors, PLC integration to existing system.
System Description: 3 FT x 8 FT paint carriers had to be rotated 90 degrees from one conveyor
to the other conveyor. The turntable received the product from a conveyor in
the 3 FT dimension, the table would rotate 90 degrees, extend four feet
then eject the product onto a conveyor in the 8 FT position.
Justification: 11% increase in conveyor uptime, improved throughput, 20% decrease in dirt defects (old method was overhead).
